Chocolate Hemp Protein Bars

 

Description

Servings : 10 Bars

 

These bars are not only jampacked with protein, they are also amazingly delicious. They are sweet but it in a very nice and nourishing way.

Have them after a workout or as a mid-day snack.

 

Ingredients

1/2 Cup Tahini

1/2 Cup Hemp Protein Powder

2 Tablespoons raw Cocoa Powder – even spoons, not heaped

2/3 Cup Blanched Almond Flour*

1/4 Cup Shelled Hemp Seeds

4 Tablespoons Chia Seed

2 Tablespoons Maple Syrup

2 Tablespoons Melted Coconut/Cacao Butter

2 Tablespoons Melted Coconut Oil

2 Tablespoons Warm Water

1/2 Teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract

 

Chocolate Coating

2 Cups Dark Chocolate

1 Teaspoon Coconut Oil

 

Instructions

Bars

Line a 20 x 20 cm baking sheet with waxed baking paper.

Add all ingredients to a high-speed food processor and blend together.

It should come together as a slightly thick dough.

Place the dough onto the baking sheet and press out evenly to approximately 2cm thick.

Place into the fridge until firm.

Once chilled/firm, transfer to a cutting board and cut into bars.

 

Chocolate Coating

 

Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie

Once melted, add the oil and gently mix together

Place the bars on a cake cooling rack over the baking tray.

Pour the chocolate over each bar.

Place back in the fridge for a little bit

Keep the chocolate warm on a low heat.

Turn the bars over and pour the remaining chocolate over the bars.

Place back in the fridge to harden.

Remove and place them in an air-tight container. Store in the fridge.

 

*Or peanut flour

These bars are not nut-free, so if you are nut sensitive, do not eat them.
