Tahini Hot Chocolate

  • 1 1/2 Cups Plant-based Milk of choice
  • 1/2 Cup Tahini
  • 2 –3 Tablespoons raw Honey to taste
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Espresso Powder
  • 1/8 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/8 Teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 250 g Bittersweet Chocolate - roughly chopped
  • Whipped Cream for topping
  • Sesame Seeds for topping


  • Place the milk on the stove in a saucepan.
  • Heat until boiling. Watch the milk. You don’t want to burn the milk. You want to make it hot enough though for the chocolate to melt into the milk.
  • Add the chopped chocolate and stir until completely melted.
  • Add the tahini, honey (starting with 2 tablespoons), vanilla extract, espresso powder, cinnamon and salt.
  • Whisk until completely incorporated.
  • Allow to sit for 5 minutes then whisk again.
  • Taste and if necessary, add more honey.
  • Pour tahini hot chocolate into small mugs.
  • Top with whipped cream and sesame seeds and serve!
